Geauga County Maple Fest 2024, which is my favorite festival and just a half-hour drive from Aurora! Initially, I almost left due to the rain but decided to stay until 3 pm, and I’m so glad I did because the sun came out and the parade was fantastic as usual!
I decided to use my 70-200mm f2.8 lens this time. Bright sun and hot temps made it challenging.
Switching from the 200-500mm lens to the 70-200mm lens wasn’t easy. Firstly, there was a significant weight difference, and secondly, difference in sharpness. Besides these variations, I had to adapt to the faster focus of the 70-200mm lens.
Capturing events versus wildlife is a whole different ballgame. At times, I thought my 200-500mm lens would be better for getting closer, but ultimately, it was the fast focus and sharpness of the 70-200mm lens that made the difference.
Here are some picture from the festival!
Attending festivals and events in Northeast Ohio is always a great experience!
