I’m always fascinated by tiny creatures like hummingbirds. Their arrival brings hope, showing that no matter how small you are, you can survive and thrive.
The closer you observe these Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, the more patterns and beautiful color palettes you’ll discover. They display a stunning array of greens, shades, blacks, and the signature shiny red on adult birds.
When photographing them, I prefer a shutter speed in the 1/1600 to 1/2000 range. The only challenge I face with my 300mm-500mm f/5.6 lens is that it struggles to focus quickly enough when the light gets a bit dim.
